The Sunny Central UP is SMA's utility-scale central inverter for PV and battery power plants, available in four models from 4,000 to 4,600 kVA nominal AC power (at 35°C). With true 1500 V DC technology, up to 4,750 A DC current, full power at ambient temperatures up to 35°C and overdimensioning up to 200%, it enables highly efficient plant design with fewer inverters and lower specific costs — up to 4 units fit in a standard shipping container.

Maximum efficiency reaches 98.9%, and the intelligent OptiCool air cooling system ensures smooth outdoor operation in all climates worldwide with a service life of 25 years. Options include DC-coupled battery storage inputs (6 dedicated battery inputs), integrated zone monitoring and an auxiliary supply for customer equipment; it is offered stand-alone or as a turnkey MV Power Station. Communication runs over Ethernet and Modbus, with compliance to CE, IEC/EN 62109-1/-2, IEEE 1547 and VDE-AR-N 4110/4120 grid codes.
